Copy editing focuses on making technical corrections, which includes spelling, grammar, punctuation, and the like. To use a rough metaphor, think of it as repairing the car. (This editor follows the Chicago Manual of Style, with a couple exceptions.)

Line editing involves going line by line and making adjustments to ensure maximum readability. This could focus on tone, word choice, flow, voice, sentence order, and more. To use the same rough metaphor, think of it as giving the car a tune-up.

This is one term [of many] for taking a look at the content of the piece. I will leave comments throughout the document with feedback on plot, characters, tone, theme, setting, and more, to help make sure you're telling the best story you possibly can! (There is no car metaphor for this one.)

I researched the average price for copy/line editing. And then I lowered it significantly. Why? If you're like me, you don't have a whole lot to spend on editors, yet the service is vital. I'm not going to price-gouge on an essential service. We creatives have to help each other!

Darn right I will! I offer full and utter transparency in my process. If something happens that makes me fall behind by a day, you'll know as soon as I do. No excuses, just the truth. I'm not going to fall behind, of course, but it's the clearest example.

I can use either Google Docs or Microsoft Word, and thus most things will be in .docx format. I can also edit the text of a .pdf document, if need be.
