No, not specifically. Developmental editing is not line editing/copy editing/proofreading. A developmental editor is concerned with the overall structure of the manuscript. Although I will usually touch upon overall grammar issues in my editorial report, I will not fix individual grammar issues.

I do an initial read-through of the manuscript while taking notes. Once I have an understanding of the project, I do a second read-through and start crafting my feedback and making notes within the manuscript. Finally, I write and polish my own editorial report to send to the client.

The big difference between editing and beta reading is the mindset I have when approaching the project. As an editor, I read with the eye of an editor looking to improve the structure/content. As a beta reader, I read from the perspective of a reader/buyer, looking at how engaging the project was.
