I plan and risk-assess NAS and storage migrations: source/destination architecture, backup requirements, downtime assumptions, migration sequence, and validation criteria so you go into cutover with a plan, not guesswork.
What you get: a structured migration plan scaled to your package from a readiness check up to a full runbook with rollback and cutover procedures.
This is a planning and risk-assessment service. I don't execute the migration itself if you need hands-on execution, we can scope that separately as a custom offer once the plan is done.

1. Do you perform the actual migration, or just plan it?
This Gig covers planning and risk assessment only — I don't execute the migration itself. Once your plan is ready, if you'd like hands-on execution support, message me and we'll scope that separately as a custom offer.
2. What information do you need from me to get started?
A description of your current (source) and target (destination) environment, approximate data volume, any known constraints (downtime windows, compliance requirements), and what you already know about permissions/access structure. More detail = a more accurate plan.
3. Which NAS or storage platforms do you support?
I work across NAS, file server, and general storage environments running Windows, Linux, Unix, VMware, or BSD-based systems. If you're unsure whether your setup fits, message me before ordering.
4. Will you access or touch my actual data during this service?
No. This is a planning and assessment service based on the information and configuration details you provide — I don't log into or make changes to your live systems as part of this Gig.
5. What counts as a revision?
Revisions cover clarifications within the original scope — like explaining a step in more detail. They don't include planning for a new system or a changed destination architecture — that's a new scope or add-on.
6. Do you guarantee zero downtime or no data loss during migration?
No. I identify risks and build a plan designed to minimize downtime and data loss based on the information available, but I don't guarantee outcomes for a migration I'm not executing myself.
7. Can you help if something goes wrong during the actual migration?
The Premium package includes a rollback plan to prepare for that scenario. If an issue comes up during execution itself, that falls outside this Gig's scope — message me and we can discuss a separate engagement.
8. Which package should I choose?
Basic if you just want a risk/readiness check before deciding how to proceed. Standard if you need a full plan (architecture, backup, sequence, validation). Premium if you need a detailed runbook with rollback and cutover procedures for a production environment.
9. Is my environment/configuration information kept confidential?
Yes. Information you share is used only to complete this assessment. Please redact credentials or highly sensitive data before sharing.
10. What if my environment is larger or more complex than the packages describe?
Message me before ordering with a brief description of your environment. For multi-site, multi-system, or unusually large migrations, we may need a custom scope.
