DESIGN ENGINEER
Apr 2026 - Present • 5 mos
As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Hailstone Innovation, I specialize in designing and developing industrial machinery, mechanical components, and production-ready assemblies using SolidWorks and AutoCAD. My expertise includes 3D CAD modeling, sheet metal design, weldments, engineering drawings, GD&T, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), BOM creation, and technical documentation. I collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, reliable, and manufacturable engineering solutions while ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards.
DESIGN ENGINNER
Feb 2024 - Feb 2026 • 2 yrs
As a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer, I specialize in 3D CAD modeling, mechanical component and assembly design, engineering drawings, GD&T, DFM, DFA, and jig & fixture design using SolidWorks and AutoCAD. I develop production-ready CAD models, machining drawings, BOMs, and ISO-compliant documentation while collaborating with manufacturing and CNC teams. Experienced in process planning, Oracle ERP, design validation, tolerance analysis, and engineering change management, I deliver accurate, manufacturable, and cost-effective engineering solutions.
DESIGN INTERN
Oct 2023 - Dec 2023 • 2 mos
During my internship as a Mechanical Design Intern, I gained practical experience in mechanical product design, CAD modeling, engineering drafting, and manufacturing documentation. I worked extensively with SolidWorks and AutoCAD to develop accurate 3D part models, multi-component assemblies, and detailed 2D engineering drawings in accordance with industry standards. My responsibilities included creating parametric CAD models, assembly design, detailed part drawings, exploded views, fabrication drawings, and production-ready manufacturing documentation. I interpreted customer specifications, engineering drawings, and technical requirements to convert design concepts into accurate CAD models while maintaining dimensional accuracy and design intent. I developed a strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), engineering drawing interpretation, tolerance analysis, fits and clearances, material specifications, and standard mechanical components. I applied Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to create practical, manufacturable, and cost-effective mechanical designs suitable for CNC machining and fabrication processes. During the internship, I also supported design modifications, engineering change implementation, drawing revisions, and documentation updates based on customer feedback and manufacturing requirements. I collaborated with senior design engineers and production teams to resolve design issues, improve manufacturability, and ensure seamless communication between design and manufacturing departments. Additionally, I gained exposure to sheet metal design, weldment structures, assembly constraints, standard fasteners, bearings, shafts, keys, and mechanical power transmission components while developing complete engineering assemblies. I prepared Bill of Materials (BOM), technical documentation, revision-controlled drawings, and manufacturing data to support production activities. My internship stren
