My position with Chalets Nautika Gaspesie involved managing the legal considerations attached to operating and developing a hospitality property business. The work required attention to the legal relationship between real estate ownership, short term accommodations, tourism services, and the commercial use of recreational properties. I examined property matters involving ownership interests, access rights, development restrictions, municipal requirements, neighboring properties, permitted uses, and improvements to chalet facilities. Before significant property decisions were undertaken, I considered whether existing legal restrictions could affect construction, renovation, expansion, or future commercial use. Guest operations presented a different category of responsibility. I developed legal approaches for reservations, cancellations, deposits, property damage, occupancy rules, guest conduct, recreational activities, and responsibility for incidents occurring on the premises. I also considered how insurance coverage and contractual protections interacted when potential liability arose. Relationships with contractors and local service providers required careful attention to scope of work, completion standards, pricing, responsibility for defects, maintenance obligations, and damage to property. I intervened when performance problems threatened operations or required enforcement of contractual rights. I further addressed questions involving tourism regulations, environmental requirements, privacy of guest information, marketing representations, and commercial partnerships. This role allowed me to protect the property's economic value, strengthen guest related protections, resolve operational legal problems, and support the responsible management and development of Chalets Nautika Gaspesie's hospitality assets.
