I spent 6 years at Atlassian during a period of immense growth for the Company. Here, I built a strong track record through performance, initiative, and long-term thinking. I joined after a highly competitive interview process, which made the opportunity feel significant from the outset and set the tone for the standard I wanted to hold myself to. I began in a role focused on retention and customer outcomes, where I quickly became known not just for delivering results, but for looking beyond the immediate task to understand where the real issues were. Rather than simply working within what I had been given, I was able to spot gaps, shape practical solutions, communicate them clearly with leadership, and follow through in a way that balanced expectations with better long-term outcomes. That approach led to broader opportunities. As I grew in the business, I contributed to identifying an important gap in how part of the customer base was being supported, and played a role in helping shape a stronger approach around it. This became a meaningful and successful part of the organisation’s commercial structure, and it also marked the next step in my own progression. Over my time there, I was promoted roughly every two years. My growth came not only from performance, but from consistently bringing initiative, sound judgement, and a willingness to challenge the usual way of doing things when there was a better path forward. Atlassian was where I most clearly proved my ability to combine results with strategic thinking, and to grow by creating value beyond the boundaries of my role.
