Serving as a Civil Engineer (Site, Design, QA/QC) for the high-profile Santa Cruz Airport Infrastructure Development Project in the Solomon Islands with the leading global tier-1 contractor, China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC). In this multi-faceted position, I successfully bridge the gap between design office engineering precision and active field operations under international consultancy supervision. Core Engineering Responsibilities & Achievements: 1. TECHNICAL DRAFTING & DESIGN REVIEW: • Function as a Senior Technical Draftsman, preparing, engineering, and reviewing high-precision Shop Drawings and As-Built Drawings. • Specialized in delivering rapid-turnaround 2D engineering layouts, structural details, and utility routing plans that align perfectly with strict international civil aviation safety codes and construction standards. 2. QA/QC & STRUCTURAL COMPLIANCE: • Formulate meticulous QA/QC inspection reports, conduct rigorous structural check-ins, and verify material field compliance against exact technical specifications. • Oversee concrete performance tests, foundation integrity, and reinforcement frameworks to eliminate structural non-conformities on-site. 3. SITE OPERATIONS & PROJECT CONTROLS: • Manage daily site operations for major infrastructure segments including the airport terminal building, extensive runway works, and airfield ground lighting (AGL) systems. • Maintain tight tracking of material take-offs, resource distribution, and structural progress metrics. 4. STAKEHOLDER CORRESPONDENCE & HSE MANAGEMENT: • Deliver high-level project progress engineering presentations directly to international clients and corporate stakeholders to ensure synchronization with technical milestones. • Actively host vital community awareness meetings on behalf of the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) department to ensure strict workspace safety compliance.
