What is a substantive office action?
A substantive office action indicates that the examiner has concerns that go beyond formalities with the application, such a that the mark is merely descriptive or that it is likely to be confused with another mark. These offices generally require legal arguments and evidence to overcome.
How do I maintain my US trademark registration?
You must file a maintenance application and pay a fee between the 5th and 6th years and between the 9th and 10th years after registration to maintain your trademark rights. Please ask about my trademark registration maintenance services.
What is an international trademark application?
An international trademark registration allows trademark owners to register their trademarks in multiple jurisdictions with a single application. This is done through the Madrid System, which is administered by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) International Bureau.
Do I need a national registration before I can file for an international registration?
Yes, you must have a registered trademark in your home country (or another Madrid member country) before filing an international application through the Madrid System.
What happens after my international application is filed?
