During my three-year apprenticeship in the design office at André & Le Rouillé, a company specializing in metal fabrication and welded assemblies, I contributed to a wide range of projects, from requirements analysis through to industrialization. My responsibilities included functional analysis, product design and 3D modelling, technical drawing, mechanical sizing, and the preparation of manufacturing documentation using SolidWorks, CATIA V5, and TopSolid. In particular, I worked on automating the transfer of design documentation to production by integrating CAD tools with manufacturing software, as well as designing clamping devices for anchoring blocks. As part of my final-year engineering project, I designed a tool for unloading laser-cut parts, incorporating regulatory requirements analysis, concept development, detailed design, and economic feasibility assessment, achieving a projected return on investment of less than three months. These experiences enabled me to develop a comprehensive understanding of the product development process, combining mechanical design, process optimization, technical and economic feasibility, and close collaboration with production teams and suppliers.
