Over deze dienst

This course is suitable for any healthcare professional and students who requires an understanding of the significance of arterial blood gas (ABG) results, the mechanisms of acid-base balance and compensation.

When interpreting ABG results, it is essential to know what ABG values are considered ‘normal’. From this baseline, you can then begin to recognise significant variations in a patient’s results, which could indicate clinical deterioration.

It will be of particular interest to nurses working in Accident and Emergency (A&E), Intensive Care Units (ICU) and High Dependency Units (HDU)

Every session will be 1 to 1 LIVE so you can interact with me and ask as many questions as you need to fully understand the topic we're covering. I will use a simple but effective method because learning can and must be fun!

I'm an highly experienced nurse with 18 years experience in acute and emergency setting. In Italy I worked in a very busy Emergency Department as well as in the prehospital setting (ambulance and helicopter); in 2011 I moved to the UK working in A&E and high dependency units. I am an ACLS, ALS, ILS, EPLS, PHTLS, AMLS provider and ACLS, ILS and PHTLS instructor. During all these years I have obtained a specialisation in NIV and ultrasound guided peripheral vascular access. If it's a life threatening situation, then I am the nurse I'd like to have by my side.
