I am currently working as an Accounting Manager, where I manage bookkeeping and accounting for multiple UK-based clients, including medium and small businesses, consultants, and property companies. I am responsible for overseeing day-to-day bookkeeping, preparing management accounts, reviewing VAT returns, assisting with payroll, and supporting the preparation of year-end accounts under FRS 102 and FRS 105. My role includes managing bookkeeping in Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage, reviewing bank and credit card reconciliations, processing and reviewing bills using Dext, maintaining accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring financial records are accurate and up to date. I also prepare management reports to help clients understand their financial performance and make informed business decisions. I regularly review and submit VAT returns under Making Tax Digital (MTD) and assist in the preparation of year-end accounts and supporting working papers for accountants. I also communicate directly with clients to resolve accounting queries and ensure all deadlines are met. In addition, I supervise junior team members, review their work, and help improve bookkeeping processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency across client accounts. This role has given me strong experience in UK accounting, cloud accounting software, VAT, payroll, and year-end accounts, as well as managing multiple clients and meeting strict reporting deadlines.
