During my work at Hortons Tech Automation, I had the opportunity to work on impactful industry-oriented projects that combined engineering design with real-world applications: 🔹 Automated Packaging Solution for UNISA Pharmaceuticals Designed a conveyor belt–based system for packing blister-packed syringes into cartons. The complete model was developed in SolidWorks, and after fabrication the system is installed at industry site the system reduced the manual labour form 4 workers per station to just 1 worker. 🔹 Lower Limb Rehabilitation Device As part of a physiotherapy specialist-sponsored project, we designed, fabricated, and successfully tested a Lower Limb Rehabilitation Device aimed at assisting patients in recovery and mobility training. The device performs two essential physiotherapy exercises: ✔️ Straight Leg Raise (SLR): Strengthens hip flexors, hamstrings, and improves range of motion — highly effective for post-surgery recovery, stroke rehab, and muscular weakness therapy. ✔️ Dorsiflexion & Plantarflexion: Enhances ankle joint mobility, supports gait training, and prevents stiffness — especially critical for patients with stroke, foot drop, spinal cord injury, or after ankle surgeries. These projects allowed me to transform a concept → CAD design (SolidWorks) → real prototype → working medical device, bridging engineering innovation and healthcare impact.
