Over mij
Most VSL edits fail for the same reason: they're cut like YouTube videos, not sales content. Fast cuts and captions don't matter if viewers drop off before the offer lands. I edit VSLs, ads and talking head videos with pacing built around attention and conversion not just polish. Where doubt creeps in, where pacing needs to breathe, where the offer needs room. Thats what separates a video that gets watched from one that gets skipped. I also edit YouTube long form, Shorts, and vlogs with the same standard: hold attention, waste nothing. VSL & Direct Response Video Editor Freelance Direct response video lives and dies in the first ten seconds. If a viewer isn't hooked before then, the script doesn't matter, the offer doesn't matter, the production value doesn't matter they're gone. I built my freelance editing practice around that single fact. Every VSL, video ad, and talking head video I touch gets cut with drop-off points in mind before a single transition, caption, or graphic goes in. Clients usually come to me with raw footage and a script they believe in but aren't sure will land once it's cut together. My job is closing that gap. I break the footage down against the pacing the script needs, find where energy dips or attention is likely to wander, and rebuild the edit around those moments trimming dead air, layering subtitles so sound off viewers stay engaged, and using motion graphics only where they clarify or reinforce the message rather than distract from it. Sound design gets treated the same way: supporting the pitch, never sitting on top of it competing for attention. This has meant working independently across VSLs, video sales letters, video ads, and talking head content with coaches, agencies, and founders running funnels where the edit itself is often the difference between a video that converts and one that gets scrolled past halfway through.
