Is the mod-update announcement instant?
It checks periodically rather than being a live push feed Steam doesn't offer real-time update alerts to third parties but it posts automatically the moment it detects your Workshop item has a new update timestamp. Practically automatic, just not instant-instant.
Whose Discord bot token does this run on?
Yours. I'll walk you through creating your own free bot application in Discord's Developer Portal, so it's fully yours with no dependency on my account.
Where does the bot actually run?
It needs to be hosted somewhere 24/7. I'll set you up on a free or low-cost host as part of delivery, or take ongoing hosting off your hands as a paid add-on if you'd rather not manage it.
Can it import my backer list from Kickstarter or BackerKit?
Yes, via CSV I'll map your actual pledge tiers to Discord roles during setup.
Do I need a live Tabletop Simulator mod already, or can this come before that?
Either works the role/backer system can go live immediately, and the update-announcement feature just gets connected once your Workshop item exists.
