- I'll mark spelling, grammar and punctuation errors for correction.
- If I'm unsure of your intended meaning, I'll add comments or queries rather than just changing something.
- I'll check for consistency of language (e.g. UK vs US English), hypenation, capitalisation, formatting, etc. so that your readers aren't distracted from your message.
I'm happy to work in MS Word or in a PDF file, having many years' experience of both.

Will you make substantive changes to my writing?
Not at all. I'll only correct something that's definitely wrong, e.g. spelling or punctuation mistakes, to make the meaning clear. There won't be any rewriting of text, and if anything's ambiguous I'll ask you about it in a comment rather than marking a direct change in the text.
Do you use AI in your proofreading?
No, I proofread manually - a human can pick up errors that AI can't necessarily see.
