How can I send the files to you?
I have a Dropbox account that I will share with you and that we will use for data transfer. If you prefer, I also have Google Drive.
Can I send you a transcode of the edit?
Yes, you can export a clean-out. If you are on a Mac, prores 4444 or 422 will do. On windows, I would suggest using only DNxHR HQX. Please remember to strip your edit of any logo, title, transition and effect - basically anything that does not need grading - before sending it to me.
Can I send you a DR project file?
Sure. If you are working in DaVinci, you can send me your project files along with the source footage. Please note that I work on the Studio version, so some of the tools that I use might not work on your end if you are on the free version.
Can I send you an XML?
Sure. If you are not working on DaVinci, you can export an XML and send me that along with the original files (or transcodes, as long as their name, length and fps match). Please include an H264 export of your timeline as a reference and mind that conforming might take extra time.
Is an H264 video suitable for grading?
As long as you shot it correctly (good exposure) yes. Just mind that the amount of work that you can put into an h264 is different from the one of a RAW file.
