Veelgestelde vragen
How do you protect my intellectual property and manuscript confidentiality?
Your work is 100% confidential. I strictly adhere to Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) standards. Your manuscript is never shared, outsourced, or stored in public databases, and zero AI training tools are ever permitted near your intellectual property. Your story remains entirely yours.
What specific subgenres of fantasy and science fiction do you edit?
I edit all SFF subgenres, including High Fantasy, Epic Fantasy, Romantasy, Dark Fantasy, Urban Fantasy, Hard Sci-Fi, Space Opera, Cyberpunk, Dystopian, LitRPG, and Progression Fantasy. Every genre has distinct tropes, pacing requirements, and world-building rules I respect.
What is the main difference between a developmental edit and line editing?
A developmental edit focuses on macro-level elements: plot architecture, character arcs, pacing, world-building, and lore logic. Line editing focuses on micro-level prose: sentence rhythm, syntax, word choice, tone consistency, and overall readability line by line.
Will editing change my unique author voice or narrative style?
Never. My editing philosophy centers on preserving and enhancing your distinct voice. I refine grammar, eliminate awkward phrasing, and smooth pacing while ensuring the core personality, tone, and artistic vision of your prose remain completely authentic and untouched.
What file formats do you accept, and how are the edits delivered?
I accept Microsoft Word documents (.doc, .docx). You will receive two completed files: a tracked document showing every inline comment and suggested edit via MS Word Track Changes, and a clean, fully accepted copy ready for your immediate review and formatting.
Do you edit manuscripts with complex magic systems or technical sci-fi?
Yes! I specialize in examining the internal logic of hard/soft magic systems, technological consistency, physics rules, and lore continuity. I ensure your world's rules remain consistent from Chapter 1 to the final page without confusing your reader.
Can you handle custom word counts longer than your standard package limits?
Absolutely. If your novel exceeds 5,000 words or is a full 100,000+ word epic novel, simply send me a direct message with your word count. I will immediately provide a custom quote tailored precisely to your manuscript size, timeline, and editorial scope.
Do you offer a sample edit before I commit to a full manuscript order?
Yes, my Basic Package is specifically structured as a sample/alpha assessment (up to 2,500 words). This allows us to align on editing style, feedback depth, and tone before committing to a larger, full-manuscript developmental or line editing package.
What style guide do you follow for book proofreading and editing?
I primary utilize the Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS), which is the standard benchmark for US and international fiction publishing. If your book targets specific UK/AU conventions, simply notify me in the intake requirements upon placing your order.
How do I review the edits once you deliver the completed project?
Open the tracked MS Word file to view every edit, comment, and note in the margin. You can accept or reject individual suggestions with a single click, allowing you to maintain total creative control over every final word in your published manuscript.
