I have worked in libraries and city government for about the past decade. Due to the nature of my area where many cities overlap in Hampton Roads I have worked at 3 different cities starting at the bottom and working up to be a Branch Manager after getting my Masters Degree in Management and Library services from the University of Southern California. I have worked outreach, been in meetings with city managers, hired staff, planned library wide events like a local authors festival, and worked across departments during COVID as a start.

At the Portsmouth Public Library I am the manager of a building where I take care of the grounds for the city, resolve disputes, participate in planning policy, interview new applicants for the city, speak to the city managers office on behalf of the library, help maintain the library website and social media. I also plan schedules support my staff on their various projects.

My first Library job where I decided to go into the field. I worked in the Main Library of the city of Hampton and helped patrons navigate the computer to do taxes, process legal paperwork, recreation, find employment, and worked at various outreach events and said yes to most anything that came up as an opportunity.
