Annotated a ~1,000-image dataset in CVAT with high labeling accuracy, directly improving downstream model performance. Trained and evaluated 3 distinct YOLOv8 models (segmentation and pose estimation) to detect objects and extract keypoints/coordinates on geological core sample images. Built dataset pipelines (train/validation splits, data.yaml configuration) and iterated on models using Python, OpenCV, and Ultralytics on Google Colab.
