I'm Michael M. Johnson, an author of historical fantasy, sci fi, horror, and epic fantasy, and a dedicated beta reader who takes every manuscript personally. I have worked with writers across the following genres:

How do you provide feedback?
Developmental Beta Editing (Character, Emotion, & Narrative Arc Focus) I give clear, organized notes that focus on character, pacing, clarity, emotional impact, prose, and overall reader experience. You’ll receive honest, respectful thoughts that help you improve without losing your voice.
Do you edit for grammar or punctuation?
No. This service focuses on beta reading and story feedback. I do not complete proofreading here. If you need help with those tasks, message me and I can direct you to the right service.
What genres do you accept?
I work in dark romance, romantasy, fantasy, sci fi, thriller, horror, literary fiction, and character driven stories. If your project falls outside these areas, feel free to message me and we can discuss it.
Do you accept darker themes or morally complex content?
Yes. I am comfortable with dark romance, morally gray characters, emotional intensity, and stories that explore darker subject matter, as long as everything follows Fiverr’s guidelines.
Can you beta read spice or romantic content?
Yes. Romantic elements, tension, emotional complexity, and adult themes are welcome. I will always handle your work with respect and confidentiality.
My manuscript is longer than your highest package. Can you still read it?
Absolutely. Please select the Premium package and add the required "additional words" extra. If you’re unsure how many you need, send me the total word count and I will guide you. Or we can chat about it.
