The prices are this high because some people confuse proofreading with copy-editing. When that happens, I immediately do a copy-edit instead, which is why I'm charging close to my copy-edit rates. If you do know the difference and are literally looking for me to only find the few things I've missed, please contact me with a sample, and I'll create a custom quote for you.
