My name is Melissa, and I’m a freelancer from Yorkshire, U.K. With a Master’s degree in Cartography (G.I.S. and Remote Sensing) from Aberystwyth University, I specialise in creating custom fantasy maps for books, games, and world-building projects.
As a fantasy author myself, I understand the importance of bringing a world to life, whether through detailed maps for your story or immersive settings for your game.

Welk bestandstype zal mijn kaart hebben?
U kunt kiezen uit een JPEG-, PDF-, PNG- of TIFF-bestand. Mijn standaardbestandstype is PNG, maar u kunt ook om een van de andere bestandstypen vragen. Ik maak mijn kaarten met Procreate.
Wordt het een zwart-wit- of kleurenkaart?
Standaard bied ik een witte achtergrond, of een textuur in grijstinten of sepia. Als je liever kleur wilt, kan dat als extra bij de bestelling worden toegevoegd. Je ontvangt twee uiteindelijke kaarten. Ik heb voorbeelden van eerdere kaarten in zowel mijn sample gig-afbeeldingen als in mijn portfolio.
Wat is de uiteindelijke beeldkwaliteit en -grootte?
Tenzij je anders aangeeft, wordt de afbeeldingsgrootte 6600 x 5100 pixels (55,88 x 43,18 cm) en een resolutie van 300dpi. Laat het me weten als je bepaalde afmetingen nodig hebt. De grootste grootte die ik kan maken is ongeveer A2-formaat voordat de beeldkwaliteit mogelijk afneemt.
Kan ik jouw kaart gebruiken in mijn boek/D&D-spel/project?
Ja! Al mijn kaarten zijn commercieel bruikbaar voor wat je maar nodig hebt. Als je mij in de dankbetuigingen wilt opnemen, is dat ook prima!
Kun je vectorafbeeldingen leveren?
Nee, ik werk alleen met rasterbestanden. Mijn standaard afbeeldingsgrootte is ongeveer A3 en kan zonder problemen verkleind worden, bijvoorbeeld voor een boek. Als je op zoek bent naar een bestand dat je gemakkelijk kunt resize voor een logo of zo, kan ik een tiff-bestand leveren dat je kunt converteren naar een vectorbestand als je toegang hebt tot bijvoorbeeld Photoshop.
