I have worked as a Construction Estimator at New Wave Construction, where I was responsible for reviewing construction drawings, preparing quantity takeoffs, and supporting accurate project cost estimation. This role helped me develop strong practical knowledge of construction plans, measurements, materials, and estimating procedures. My experience includes using PlanSwift to perform digital quantity takeoffs and measure materials directly from construction drawings. I worked with different project information to identify quantities, organise measurements, and prepare clear estimating data for pricing and project planning. I also have experience with Microsoft Excel for construction estimating, including quantity calculations, cost breakdowns, material tracking, data organisation, and preparing professional estimating sheets. I focus on maintaining accuracy and consistency when working with large amounts of project data. My key responsibilities included: • Reviewing architectural and construction drawings • Performing detailed quantity takeoffs using PlanSwift • Preparing and organising estimation data • Using Excel for calculations, cost breakdowns, and reporting • Checking measurements and quantities for accuracy • Supporting project pricing and tender preparation • Maintaining clear and organised project documentation Through this experience, I have developed a practical understanding of how construction drawings are converted into measurable quantities and useful estimating information.
