I’m Nicola D'Adamo, a professional musician and drummer with years of experience in remotely composing and recording drum parts for producers, songwriters, and composers worldwide for various genres of music - all from my own recording studio in Milan. - Rock /// Pop-Rock /// Pop /// Funk /// Country /// Blues - I will record drum tracks for your song, and send you first take within only 24 hours Whatever your song needs, whether you're looking for a groove or you need to replace a programmed beat or adding some live variation, I will record the best drum beat for your song. So after a client asks me to make live drums for his song…. Step 1: I play the whole song 3 or 4 times, listening carefully while making markers in my digital audio workspace regarding the structure, ostinatos, and any cool musical riffs by the other instruments that I can reinforce with my drumming. Step 2: Following the client's sound references, I start developing the right drum sound for their song. I experiment with different setups, trying various snares, kicks, cymbals, etc. This helps me figure out which drum set is best for their needs. Step 3: I start recording! If I don't receive sheet music or a programmed beat as a reference, I’ll start finding the right musical balance with the other instruments, putting most of my attention on the vocal or melody track. The goal here is to support the song and not steal any focus. Step 4: Lastly, I will listen to each part of my session. If it’s all good to me, then I’ll bounce (meaning combine) all of my drums together in one file so the client can review it easily. If there’s any change needed, I’ll implement the revisions. Once approved, all the stems are sent. My job ends only when the client is satisfied.
