Administers systems used for processing transactions, data storage, transfer of data and recommends improvements necessary to ensure operation of the company’s high traffic, business critical production environments. Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems, oversees required controls to balance audit compliance (where appropriate) cost of ownership and risk. Serves as a frontline interface to users with technical issues. Makes recommendations for hardware and systems software purchases. Interacts with third-party technology providers and internal support functions. Conducts systems analysis, detailed planning and configuration to keep systems current with changing technologies. - Proposes and implements system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of systems to include planning / scheduling, testing, and coordination. - Manage, troubleshoot, monitor and maintain servers remotely via Integrated Management Module (IMM), when operating system is not running, or the server is powered off. - Installs new software, participates with system implementations, and system upgrades (hardware and software) and conducts system testing. - Build, deploy, and manage server-based applications, networking, and data storage in Windows Server 2012 R2, 2008 and 2016 (Tivoli, vSphere, ESXi, IMM) - Manages multiple virtual machines with vSphere and ESXi. - Responsible for troubleshooting, monitoring, administering appropriate permissions/access to applications/systems for users on LDAP and Active Directory. - Upgrading, monitoring, testing and servicing databases and systems. - Automates system processes with Bash Scripting and Ansible Automation to reduce manual workload, and improve the efficiency, consistency, and reliability of systems - Perform data backups and recoveries to drives and tapes on NetBackup - Monitors the performance, health, and availability of servers, networks, and applications on Tivoli
