Photo session & creation of original cyanotype print. During the photo session I focus on capturing the spirit of the chosen subject(s), as well as any objects, settings or backgrounds that have meaning for you. We edit down to favorite images. Then a 5-step process begins ending in a unique cyanotype print.
I layer the chosen photos into a composition, often I do this by removing the background of the photo and layering in the special one(s) chosen, & create a completely new composition. I have used this process for custom portraits as well as fine art pieces.
The cyanotype photographic process, invented in 1842, is the original "blue print" process, creating a Prussian Blue UV exposure. These blue-tone prints give an effect to the image as if stepping a century backwards, while still solidly rooted in the present. They visually transport to an earlier time, appearing dreamlike or surreal.
Each cyanotype print is unique. Cyanotype using sunlight is a time-exposure which depends on time of day/ angle of the sun, changes in weather, intensity of sun etc. These differences appear in the exposure, affecting the result.

I am a designer, artist and photographer. I have received a merit award for my cyanotype art, was a resident artist at the Museum of Art and Design in NYC, designed Jewelry for Barry Kieselstein Cord for QVC, done interior design, design-and-build, landscape design and home organization first at California Closets then creating Haus Edit --- any aspect of the home and I've applied design to it!
Currently I am doing freelance work and creating custom portraits and fine art using the darkroom and UV/sun exposure process of cyanotype and photography.
