After working as an operator and scheduler I was promoted to a Database Administrator position As a DBA DB2 for z/OS, I was a key asset to my department during critical Disaster Recovery activities and supporting major DB2 problems, also supporting IBM internal systems being responsible to keep JCL applications that use DB2 Automation Tool to keep the application data healthy and Page 3 of 5 available with Online REORGs implementations and timely Backed Up (Image Copies), among other DB2 utilities such as Runstats, Modify Recovery and Statistics. Providing complete weekly maintenance attending to each customer’s maintenance window During the time I was assigned as a DBA I had a chance to participate in a War Room for a problem in a big IBM client, where all data was lost and was recovered from scratch, a lot of skill and hard work were necessary to accomplish this task. What was at the beginning a nightmare, after all the work, finished with a feeling of a well-done task and after some weeks we received big thanks from the client for all the work that was done.
