As an intern in the Internal Communication Department of the IT Center, I supported my supervisor with day-to-day tasks related to internal communication. My responsibilities were varied and included writing news drafts, planning internal events, editing podcasts, and maintaining records for quarterly IT employee training sessions. I worked with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint to publish internal news and posts, and used Outlook to send informative emails on various topics. I also created SharePoint pages for different IT-related subjects, aiming to make information more transparent, accessible, and easy to navigate for employees. During my internship, I gained valuable insight into the organization of internal events, from requesting managerial approval and budgeting to drafting posts, surveys, and promotional materials. I contributed to the graphic side of communication by creating visuals that encouraged employee engagement, mainly using PowerPoint and occasionally Adobe Photoshop, while following company branding guidelines. A significant part of my role involved podcast editing, which helped me develop strong technical skills within the Adobe suite. I used Adobe Audition to clean and edit audio files by removing filler words and shortening recordings without losing key information. Photoshop was used to design podcast visuals, ensuring consistency with the company’s visual identity. Finally, I used Adobe Premiere Pro to combine audio and visuals, apply effects, and blur sensitive information when necessary. In addition to podcasts, I worked on educational videos created with SimpleShow. I supported the editing process by adjusting audio, clipping content, and refining videos using Adobe tools. Overall, this internship was a valuable learning experience that provided hands-on exposure to internal communications, multimedia production, and collaborative corporate workflows.
