Punjab Safe City Authority • Fulltime

Apr 2018 - Present8 yrs 1 mo

I have been working as a Network Engineer in the Punjab Safe City Authority since April 2018. Work Experience as an NOC operational Team Task: 1:Real-time monitoring, initial ticket logging, and basic troubleshooting. 2: If a server goes down, L1 acknowledges the alarm, creates a ticket, and tries a "restart" or standard SOP fix. 3:Speed and adherence to documentation. If they can't fix it within 15–30 minutes, they escalate. Level 2 (L2): The Tactical Specialists L2 technicians handle the issues that L1 couldn't resolve. They have deeper access to systems and more technical "know-how." Primary Tasks: Advanced troubleshooting, configuration changes, and identifying patterns (e.g., "Why does this specific router keep failing every Tuesday?"). Workflow: They dive into logs, routing tables, and deep-layer configurations to find the root cause. Key Skill: Analytical thinking and deep technical knowledge of networking protocols. Level 3 (L3): The Architects & Experts L3 is the highest level of internal support, often consisting of senior engineers or the people who actually designed the network. Primary Tasks: Handling critical outages (Sev-1), complex security breaches, and architectural changes. Workflow: They rarely deal with day-to-day tickets. They step in when the entire "backbone" of the network is at risk or when a bug requires vendor intervention (like calling Cisco or Microsoft). Key Skill: Mastery of the entire infrastructure stack and crisis management.
