Self-Employed Medical Billing Assistant (2024 – Present) Since 2024, I have been working as a self-employed Medical Billing Assistant, providing reliable and detail-oriented medical billing support to healthcare providers, medical practices, and billing companies. My primary goal is to help clients streamline their revenue cycle by submitting accurate claims, reducing denials, and ensuring timely reimbursements. I have hands-on experience with the complete medical billing process, including patient registration, insurance eligibility and benefits verification, charge entry, CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding review, claim creation and submission, payment posting, denial management, claim corrections, and accounts receivable (A/R) follow-up. I also work on rejected and denied claims by identifying the root cause, applying the correct modifiers when necessary, and resubmitting claims to maximize reimbursement. I am familiar with major insurance payers such as Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Humana, and other commercial insurance plans. I understand payer guidelines and work carefully to ensure claims are compliant and submitted correctly the first time.
