Over mij
I'm Syukri, a typesetter and scholarly publisher from Malaysia. Since 2011 I have run Akademi Jawi Malaysia, where I have designed and typeset 60+ titles in Jawi, Arabic, Malay and English. I hold an M.Phil from RZS-CASIS, UTM, with a thesis on classical Jawi language scholarship, so I read and check the text I set. I also led the 228-issue digitisation of the Jawi magazine Qalam with Kyoto University. I founded Akademi Jawi Malaysia (formerly Klasika Media) in 2011, a scholarly publishing and printing house specialising in Jawi, Arabic, Malay and English texts. I personally design and typeset our titles in InDesign, from classical Jawi texts with ornamental frames to academic books with full Arabic harakat, footnotes and transliteration. - 60+ titles published - Jawi conversion (penjawian) of other publishers' titles - Publication coordinator for works by leading Malaysian scholars, including titles for CASIS-HAKIM and Muzium Pahang - Member of the Malaysian Book Publishers Association (MABOPA)
