Where do I tell you the number of words I have?
Please contact me before ordering. There is a "Number of words" box on the gig page. Or, in your first message, tell me how many words you want me to edit, your deadline, and the topic. I'll reply with an Offer.
Will you write my thesis or part of my thesis?
No. For me to do your work, for such an important part of your education, would be unethical. I will edit what you have written and help you in a lot of ways to improve your words, but all work must be yours. This means I do not complete extensive rewrites and I do not paraphrase.
What experience do you have with dissertations and theses?
I have been editing these types of papers for almost 20 years, in topics ranging from art history to physiotherapy to nursing to marketing and business.
What file formats do you edit in?
I can edit in Word or Google Docs. If I edit in Word, I will send you two versions of your file: one that tracks all the changes I have made; and one with all those changes "accepted." I cannot edit PDF documents - sorry.
Do you check facts, veracity, read references, or write my paper?
No. Your academic work must be your own. I can help you ensure it's grammatical, easy to read, in academic English, and can alert you to inconsistencies, missing information, and unclear statements. I cannot check facts or ensure your references uphold your thesis. I cannot guarantee a grade.
Will you keep my work confidential?
Yes. I am the only one who will see your work and I will not share it with anyone else.
How will you return my work?
If you send me a Word document, I will track all the changes I have made and return two documents to you: one showing all those changes as "tracked" and one with all the changes "accepted." For Google Docs, I will send a link to you.
Do you format my paper and the references?
Usually, I can. If your university has very strict or unique formatting requirements, please contact me and I'll see what I can do to help. If it's simply APA or MLA, for example, then absolutely.
