- A written report you can hand directly to another engineer
Each package covers one agreed issue within a fixed budget. If the root cause can't be proven in the investigation window, you still leave with the evidence gathered, possibilities eliminated, and a much narrower problem.
Implementation is separate. Once we understand the problem, I can quote the repair or you can take the report to your own engineer.

Should I order this gig or your bug-fix gig?
Choose the fix gig when the defect is sufficiently understood for us to agree on a bounded implementation. Choose this gig when the cause, scope, or repair effort is uncertain. Message me with the symptoms and I'll recommend the appropriate starting point.
What if you don't find the root cause?
You still receive the investigation report: evidence gathered, hypotheses tested, remaining possibilities, blockers, and the next useful step. The price covers the agreed investigation and report; it is not contingent on finding a definitive cause.
What counts toward the investigation time?
Environment setup, code and log review, reproduction attempts, diagnostic experiments, analysis, and reporting all count. Passive waiting does not, in cases with long-running jobs. I reserve time for the report and stop at the package limit or earlier if the agreed objective is met.
Is implementing the fix included?
No. Diagnostic experiments may include temporary code changes, but production-ready implementation, deployment, and regression coverage are separate. You can use the report with your own engineer or request a separate quote from me.
What do revisions and support cover?
One revision covers correcting or clarifying the report using evidence already gathered. Submit questions or the revision request within the support window stated in the package. New evidence, additional experiments, implementation, and ongoing support require separate scope.
What if access is missing or the investigation needs more time?
We confirm required access before ordering. If a blocker appears during investigation, I explain it and discuss the next step. I do not exceed the agreed budget without a separate agreement. Whole-app audits, additional issues, and third-party fees are excluded.
