I will transcribe and translate old german documents written in kurrent and sütterlin

Fiverr bases its billing on words. However, I prefer billing based on page numbers as historical documents vary greatly in layout and handwriting. One page typically corresponds to approximately 100 - 200 words. If a document significantly exceeds this range, I will contact you before proceeding.

I work with historical German documents commonly used in genealogy research, including civil records, church registers, certificates, official documents, and private letters or correspondence. If you are unsure whether your document is suitable, please contact me before ordering.

I specialize in old German handwriting and printing, including Kurrent, Sütterlin, and Fraktur. These scripts are common in German historical records from the 16th to early 20th century.

I offer limited support for common Latin entries found in genealogical records (such as dates, names, and standard formulas). Full Latin documents are not included by default. Please contact me in advance if your document contains extensive Latin text.

Historical documents may contain damaged sections, faded ink, or unclear handwriting. I provide careful and accurate work, but unreadable or uncertain passages will be clearly marked in the transcription rather than guessed.

You will receive a clean, readable transcription and translation in a standard text format (usually PDF). If you need a specific format or a side-by-side layout (original text and translation), please let me know before ordering.

If your document is very old, difficult to read, damaged, or contains multiple languages, I strongly recommend contacting me first. This helps ensure accurate pricing and avoids misunderstandings.
