Two Tank CIP System-Semi Automatic Recently initiated a Semi-Automatic Two-Tank CIP (Clean-In-Place) System project for a pharmaceutical/process application. The project was strategically started with a Basic Engineering Package to help the client validate the process concept before moving toward detailed engineering and fabrication. The objective of this approach was to minimize unnecessary initial expenditure, save project time, and avoid costly modifications during later stages. Instead of pushing for a complete turnkey scope immediately, the focus was placed on building a practical engineering foundation and confirming the operational philosophy step-by-step. Scope covered during the initial phase included: • Process P&ID preparation • Valve placement philosophy • Process connection routing for CIP operation • Heating & cooling concept using Plate Heat Exchanger (PHE) • Preliminary utility integration • Semi-automatic operational philosophy using PLC + 10” HMI • Identification of critical automation points • Basic system design conditions without detailed sizing System configuration developed: • 500 L Caustic Vessel • 1000 L Rinsing Vessel • Heating & Cooling through PHE • Combination of manual and automatic valve operation for optimized cost and functionality The project was intentionally divided into phases so the client could review and approve the process concept before proceeding toward detailed design.
