YouTube Video Editor & Podcast Post-Production Lead – Weekly Episodes for a Coaching Podcast
Agency • Fulltime
Aug 2026 - Present • 1 mo
A coaching podcast published weekly video episodes but had no consistent post-production process. The host was recording in Riverside, editing late at night, and uploading to YouTube with mismatched titles, missing chapters, and inconsistent audio from week to week. I took over the full pipeline from raw recording to published episode. After downloading the Riverside tracks, I did the text-based rough cut in Descript to remove filler words, false starts, and long pauses quickly. I then finished the edit in DaVinci Resolve, switching between host and guest angles, leveling both voices, and adding the show's intro, outro, and lower thirds. For each episode I delivered a YouTube-ready video, an MP3 for podcast platforms, and 3 to 5 vertical clips with burned-in captions. I also prepared the title, description, chapter timestamps, and a thumbnail from the show's template, then scheduled the upload. Before anything went live, I checked every deliverable against the host's notes, so names, links, and dates matched and no episode went out with an audio or caption error. The host stopped spending evenings on editing and uploads. The show gained a predictable weekly release schedule, a consistent look and sound across episodes, and a full set of promotional clips ready to post on the same day each episode was published.
Podcast Trailer & Cold Open Editor – Story-Driven Intros for an Entrepreneur Interview Show
Self employed / Freelance • Freelance
Jun 2026 - Present • 3 mos
An entrepreneur interview podcast on YouTube was losing viewers in the first minute because each episode opened with small talk instead of the guest's best moment. The host wanted a 60 to 90 second cold open that played like a trailer for the conversation rather than a montage of random clips. Working from the host's script and selected soundbites, I built each cold open in Premiere Pro as a short story arc: a hook, the guest's struggle, a turning point, and a payoff that made the full episode worth watching. I used J-cuts and L-cuts to make separate answers feel like one continuous thought, and I let emotional lines land on the guest's face without covering them in captions or effects. Music and sound design did much of the emotional work. I built tension with the score, dropped to silence before key lines, and balanced dialogue so it stayed clear over the music. Titles and restrained motion graphics were animated in After Effects to match the show's brand. I also cut a vertical 9:16 version of each trailer for Reels and YouTube Shorts to promote the episode before release. The result was a repeatable cold-open format the host could apply to every new episode, giving the show a recognizable opening style and a stronger reason for viewers to keep watching past the first minute.
Video Podcast Editor – B2B Executive Interviews & LinkedIn Clips
Freelance • Freelance
Mar 2026 - Present • 6 mos
A B2B media team producing executive interviews needed an editor who could turn unscripted conversations with engineers, manufacturers, and healthcare leaders into polished thought-leadership pieces without making them feel like consumer social content. I worked from 10 to 45 minutes of raw interview footage per piece. Using Descript transcripts to search and assemble a rough cut, I found the strongest soundbite inside long, rambling answers and built each edit around it, cutting filler and repetition while keeping the speaker's intent intact. Final edits were finished in Premiere Pro, with lower thirds, titles, and clean typography built in After Effects to match each client's brand guidelines. Each interview produced a finished long-form episode plus horizontal and vertical short cuts for LinkedIn and other channels. I wrote accurate on-screen captions, corrected technical terms, balanced the audio mix, and exported to the correct frame rates and compression specs for every platform. Project files were organized and clearly labeled so revisions and handoffs ran smoothly. The result was a repeatable workflow that turned one executive conversation into a credible brand piece and a set of LinkedIn-ready clips, with AI tools speeding up transcription and rough assembly while editorial decisions stayed in human hands.
